GAZA (AhlulBayt News Agency) - Senior Hamas official Dr. Salah Bardawil said racist remarks by Israeli opposition leader Tzipi Livni that the objective behind the Gaza siege was to take Hamas out of power confirms that the Gaza Strip blockade is political and intended to force the Palestinians to renounce their democratic choice and back down on their rights.
Commenting on reports issued by Israeli sources confirming that an Israeli officer working as interim coordinator of government activities in the territories has been for the three years Hamas took office employing mathematic formulas to tighten control on food and basic products allowed into the Gaza Strip, Bardawil called on human rights groups to denounce Israel for its collective punishment of the Palestinians over their democratic choice.
Bardawil also called on groups whose relations have been normalized with Israel to stop normalization of relations and exert pressure to liberate the Palestinians and end their suffering.
The Hamas leader called on Fatah to immediately stop security cooperation with the fascist Israeli government, stressing that security coordination forms a suitable environment for Israeli violations.
